Boarding
Here at Fleurieu Axolotls, We offer boarding for those who;
- Need to keep their axolotl elsewhere for a bit whether that’s due to housing issues for yourself or becoming temporarily overwhelmed with work and/or studies.
- Going away on an extended period of time such as a holiday interstate.
Boarding is $10 per axolotl per week.
If an extension greater than 3 days is made during the boarding period, there will be additional charges which will need to be paid on pick up. These charges will reflect the extension length based at the same rate as above ($10 per axolotl per week).

Surrender
In Adelaide South Australia and needing to rehome your axolotl asap?
We take on surrenders for those who cannot look after their axolotl anymore whether that’s because you/the kids have lost interest, your lifestyle doesn’t suit the requirements of an axolotl or due to financial reasons.
We also take on surrenders who are not well as we understand not everyone has the ability to get the lotl healthy again, we just ask that you understand that there is a chance that the sick ones may still pass.
Before we accept any sick axolotls you must provide a full rundown on what is going on and what treatments you’ve already tried as well as photos so we can help work out what’s going on, this means we will tell you to see an exotic animal vet prior to surrender when warranted such as for severe gravel/rock impaction and for internal parasite medication (ones marketed for fish in pet stores are unsafe for axolotls as they’re amphibians).
We do not have an intake charge as we value animal wellbeing over profit and we understand it’s tough to make the call to surrender for many people.
